About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Supply Trader to join our dynamic trading team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to the marine fuels and bunkering industry while supporting the end-to-end execution of supply operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Business Manager and Trading Team in the coordination and execution of bunker supply transactions, from deal confirmation through to final delivery and post-delivery reconciliation.
- Assist with pre-sale and post-sale activities, including gathering operational information, preparing documentation, monitoring delivery schedules and following up on outstanding matters to ensure seamless transaction execution.
- Coordinate closely with customers, suppliers, barge operators, surveyors, port authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth and efficient bunker deliveries.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for customers and business partners by responding promptly to enquiries, providing operational updates and resolving issues in a professional manner.
- Monitor vessel schedules, delivery requirements, and operational developments to proactively identify and address potential challenges that may impact supply operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation, verification, and maintenance of operational and transactional records, including contracts, delivery documents, invoices, and reports.
- Deliver high-quality trading support services with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Assist in market intelligence gathering, data collection, and analysis to support trading and business development activities.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments, including Operations, Finance, and Compliance, to ensure smooth transaction processing and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Trading Team and undertake ad-hoc assignments and additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience within the bunker trading, marine fuels, shipping, or maritime industry.
- Ability to converse effectively in Mandarin to communicate with Mandarin-speaking customers, suppliers, and business partners.
- Results-oriented with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to build, develop, and maintain positive business relationships.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to operational challenges while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Willingness to work extended hours when required to support business operations and customer needs.
- Positive attitude, strong sense of ownership, and commitment to delivering quality work.
