Job Description

The Radiographer is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established medical standards and hospital protocols to support accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care. This role ensures high-quality imaging results while prioritizing patient safety, radiation protection, and excellent service experience.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, and other radiology modalities according to physician requests and clinical protocols.
  2. Prepare patients before imaging procedures by explaining the examination process, verifying patient identity, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  3. Operate, monitor, and maintain radiology equipment in accordance with operational standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  4. Ensure image quality meets diagnostic requirements while minimizing radiation exposure by applying the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle.
  5. Maintain compliance with radiation safety regulations and infection prevention & control (IPC) standards.
  6. Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to emergency situations when necessary.
  7. Document examination results accurately within the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  8. Collaborate effectively with Radiologists, Physicians, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.
  9. Perform routine quality control checks and report equipment malfunctions to Biomedical Engineering or authorized vendors.
  10. Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of imaging equipment and supporting accessories.
  11. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, accreditation programs, audits, and continuing professional development.
  12. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies, ethical standards, and applicable healthcare regulations.

 

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (D4/S1) in Radiography.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid STR (Surat Tanda Registrasi) for Radiographer.
  • Active SIP (Surat Izin Praktik) or eligible to obtain one.
  • Radiation Protection Officer (PPR) certification is an advantage.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Radiographer in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center.
  • Fresh graduates with strong clinical internship experience are welcome to apply (depending on organizational needs).

  • Proficient in operating radiology equipment (Digital X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, Fluoroscopy).
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and ALARA.
  • Familiar with PACS, RIS, and Hospital Information Systems.
  • Understanding of quality assurance in diagnostic imaging.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control standards
