Job Description
Role Summary
As an Assistant Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for both Direct/Indirect Procurement Spending. Developing, executing, and managing end-to-end category strategies to optimize spend, drive cost savings, and secure supplier value. Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, you will operate as a high-impact individual contributor—leading strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating key contracts, and managing cross-functional stakeholder and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Material Spend Management: Own and manage all Direct Material spend, determining optimal supplier allocation and sourcing strategies to achieve cost-efficiency, risk mitigation, and continuous innovation.
- Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Lead end-to-end RFP/RFI/RFQ processes. Plan and execute complex negotiations with key suppliers regarding pricing, commercial terms, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and contractual guarantees.
- Structural Cost Savings: Proactively identify, lead, and deliver structural cost-saving initiatives across all spend categories by partnering with internal department leaders to align procurement strategies with business objectives and operational needs.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Conduct regular supplier audits, performance evaluations (KPI tracking), and drive continuous supplier improvement programs.
- Spend Analysis: Prepare regular procurement performance reports, including market analysis, benchmarking, and spend analysis etc.
- Risk & Contract Governance: Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk teams to draft, review, and finalize vendor contracts while managing supply chain continuity and compliance risks.
- Indirect Procurement Oversight: Managing key indirect categories (e.g., equipment, maintenance/MRO, office supplies, professional services, IT/facility services), ensure cost efficiency across CAPEX/OPEX
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict adherence to company procurement policies, the global procurement manual, and the local Authority Matrix across all factory purchasing activities.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor in Business Administrative / Supply Chain / Material science / Chemistry, or other relevant fields
- 5 - 10 years experience in Procurement fields
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Open minded, Passionate and proactively on driving valuable changes
- Experience in Chemical Industry is preferred
- Fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin
- Tools: SAP, Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI)
