Job Description

Sika is looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join its growing team in the Canton, MA area for our Roofing business.  The Machine Operator will work A shift which is M, T, W and every other Wednesday 6am to 6pm.

The Machine Operator at Sika will play a key role in...

  • Supporting a PLC controlled 120 wide tandem flexible PVC extrusion coating line
  • The operation will include set up, operation, breakdown and cleaning of all components, and the development of proper processing parameters during operation to optimize line speeds and yields
  • Safe operation of forklifts to transport materials to workstations.
  • Ensure proper quality review of the product on workstations assigned.
  • Follow all company policies, including environmental policy and notify supervisor of any concern that may affect work area or company property.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience with plastics, vinyl coating, lamination or printing production highly desirable
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Good verbal communications skills
  • Understanding of how to use a touch-screen (PLC) production line
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime if required
  • Availability and willingness to cover any shift with prior notification
