Job Description
The Jr. Cost accountant and material data- Coordinator is responsible for entering and maintaining information in the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning system (SAP) to ensure accuracy including creation and extension of item codes, maintaining costs and necessary updates.
What you will be doing:
- Ensure cost is set up properly whenever new code is created or existing code extended.
- Review of cost pricing and analysing variances.
- Support in performing month end activity and preparing reports as and when required.
- Review of production variances on periodic basis.
- Review of factory cost analysis as and when required.
- Creation and extension of Item codes in Material Data Governance (MDG) portal, costing and maintenance of the documentation for master data creation and managing it centrally for Sika Canada.
- Analyze and resolve cross-functional item code data issues.
- Ensure item codes are created accurately and within a reasonable timeframe.
- Responsible for Material Data Governance (MDG portal and monitoring status of item code creation and pending codes to be released for costing.
- Implement corporate requests for code deletions and data maintenance.
- Review item configuration set up (e.g., BU’s, item codes blocked, MRP set up, stock transfer set up etc.) in SAP.
- Provide necessary costing information to the Operation/Sales team as required.
- Work with costing team to resolve any costing related issues.
- Assist operation team with cost estimation for new project launches.
- Participate in Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis to determine codes to be discontinued when required.
- Ensuring support in cost roll up activity as and when required.
- Taking part in annual stock verification activity and preparing reports.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: College Diploma in Accounting or equivalent experience (AEC, or DEC in Quebec)
- Bilingual in French and English although French not required outside the province of Quebec
- 3-5 years relevant experience as Jr. cost accountant and handling material data management preferred
- Working knowledge and experience with MS Excel and ERP systems, specifically SAP
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and solve problems
