Job Description

Sika is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Madison Heights, MI.  This is NOT an IT role. At Sika, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for  providing  customers, with adhesive and sealant application equipment support.as well as developing robust material dispensing strategies for Sika’s bulk dispensed materials.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work with customers and dispensing equipment vendors to verify Sika product compatibility and or define new equipment requirements
  • Support customers with guidance on proper equipment needs and by validating applications through execution of lab testing and dispensing trials
  • Support the R& D team by defining existing application methods and by working with vendors to develop new methods and processes for application
  • Conduct customer site visits
  • Provide feedback to internal customers (Corporate TD/SENG, R&D, Marketing)
  • Write and communicate technical service reports
  • Maintain safe and efficient las environments
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with equipment suppliers 
  • Provide training to customers and employees
  • Participate in specialized fairs and conferences
  • Able to travel 30% in support of customer support and launch activities

 

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, preferable Chemical but Mechanical and Electrical will be considered
  • Demonstrated strategic thought
  • Project management and planning skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and fundamental PL
  • Fanuc programming, SAP , and SalesForce preferred
