Job Description

Sika is looking for an experienced Quality Lab Technician to join its growing team in the Canton, MA area for our Roofing business.

The QC Lab Technician will work A Shift which is Su, M, T every other Wednesday 6am to 6pm.  The QC Lab Technician will Perform daily quality tests and inspections on in process materials and finished membranes.

Salary Range: $23 - $27 hour with a 10% shift differential based on education, experience and qualifications of the applicant. 

  • Hourly observation and documentation of production processes and quality parameters
  • Perform acceptance tests on incoming raw materials and semi-finished materials
  • Formulate color matches for sales using spectrophotometric software
  • Data entry of laboratory generated data using MS Excel and MS Access
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory area.
  • Follow company environmental policy and work practices or other concern which would affect safety, environment, or company property
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Degree
  • Experience in laboratory environment, measurements, and production desirable
  • Some experience with computerized testing equipment such as laboratory balances, tensile testers and spectrophotometers.
  • Knowledge of Windows software, in particular Microsoft Excel, Word, Access
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Accuracy with data input and attention to detail
