Job Description
Broad Function and Purpose of Position:
The Product Sustainability Specialist will be responsible for organizing and advancing the sustainability attributes of Sika’s products and solutions within North America. The individual will provide technical expertise on key issues related to green building programs, net zero, scope 3 emissions, and circular economy and will supervise all non-operations’ sustainability initiatives, taking into consideration regulatory and market trends. The individual will work in alignment with the Corporate Product Sustainability team and other regions to ensure strategic consistency and the sharing of best practices.
Sika offers a flexible work schedule.
Base salary of $75,000-$90,000 commensurate with experience and educational background.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Adapt and implement the corporate sustainability strategy throughout North America, specifically relating to the following strategic targets: Sustainable Solutions, Climate Performance, and Community Engagement
- Organize, prioritize, and execute projects related to product sustainability across North American target markets and business units including LCA, recycled content, scope 3 emissions, low-emitting materials, and embodied carbon.
- Act as North American specialist in relevant green building programs, regulation, and market trends, coordinating as needed across departments, within businesses, and alongside corporate sustainability.
- Create and supervise sustainability roadmaps from North American departments, excluding operations.
- Communicate regularly with corporate product sustainability team and other regions to ensure strategic alignment and ongoing sharing of best practices.
- Coordinate and ensure consistent sustainability communication and marketing across North American target markets and business units through platforms including Sika’s website, social media, campaigns, presentations, etc.
- Coordinate and ensure ongoing training of North American sales and technical teams on Sika’s sustainability targets, strategy, and solutions.
- Support the development and execution of Region America’s comprehensive sustainability strategy and remain closely aligned with corporate sustainability and ESG initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree and above, with professional qualifications in sustainability, ESG, or related focus.
- Experience in energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction within operations is mandatory.
- Scope 3 emissions experience and a technical/engineering background is a plus.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills preferred).
- Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
