Job Description

Sika is seeking a dynamic and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our growing team at our St. Louis extrusion plant. As a Maintenance Manager, you will be a key leader, overseeing the day-to-day operations of our maintenance department and ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor both union and non-union staff, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment focused on teamwork and development.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies, including preventive and predictive maintenance, work order systems, and critical parts inventory management to maximize operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Fully implement and optimize the new Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), streamlining maintenance processes and improving performance metrics.
  • Provide technical support to production departments, ensuring alignment of maintenance resources with production goals and timelines.
  • Monitor and manage departmental spending, purchasing activities, and overall budget to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Oversee the management of external maintenance resources, including contractors and utility services, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Ensure all site facilities are maintained in optimal condition and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Contribute as a key member of the Plant Operations Management team, collaborating on broader strategies to meet operational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field.
  • Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience, with a proven ability to implement reliability strategies and optimize maintenance processes.
  • Experience with CMMS implementation, reliability strategies, preventive maintenance, and budget management.
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic prints, and systems. Experience with extrusion equipment and thermoforming is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.
  • Excellent communication skills, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CAD software.
