POSITION OVERVIEW

Technical Sales Representatives/Engineers will be responsible for the sales and technical support of Sika’s full line of Shotcrete & Tunneling Solutions for the STM Business Unit, in the GTA. The employee is responsible for representing the best interests of Sika when dealing with stakeholders in the industry; including consulting engineers, owners, and contractors.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and support Sika’s full line of STM Shotcrete & Tunneling products to the industry for the purpose of developing specifications and being involved in project bidding processes.
  • Provide on-site technical support for STM products during a project’s construction phase; including site visits, trials, field testing and reporting.
  • Perform sales activities such as quoting, forecasting, and reporting in a designated territory with a focus on increasing market share and top line sales.
  • Conduct “lunch and learns” and other seminars or presentations for contractors and engineering companies.
  • Participate in industry associations, conferences, and internal sales meetings.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Civil, Geological or Mining Engineering Degree.
  • Direct experience on construction sites or in sales is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (French and/or Spanish is an asset).
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Highly analytical.
  • Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • All required safety training including WHMIS, confined space, working at heights is provided by Sika.
  • Knowledge and training to physically apply shotcrete with associated equipment & applicable training for our other product technologies such as TBM, waterproofing and injection is provided by Sika.
  • Ability to lift up to or exceeding 30KG.
  • A uniform following industry standards for PPE relating to mine site or construction site is provided by Sika.
  • May be required to travel and spend time in remote areas and on-sites including underground mines and tunnels.

Vehicle/ Driver’s License Requirements:

  • Company vehicle provided.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and comply with Sika Fleet Safety Policy requirements.
  • Technical Sales Representatives has responsibility for prudent care and protection of company assets.
