Job Description

The Business Intelligence Analyst supports the Americas commercial organization by transforming enterprise data into trusted, actionable insights and measurable process improvements. Reporting to the Business Intelligence & Analytics Manager, the role partners with business functions and enterprise IT to deliver effective analytics tools, KPI governance, process insights, and data-quality improvements.

Business Performance & Process Improvements

  • Analyze commercial, financial, CRM, and operational performance to identify material exceptions, bottlenecks, and execution gaps affecting revenue, margin, productivity, service, or working capital.
  • Diagnose root causes using segmentation, variance analysis, funnel analysis, cohort analysis, process mapping, and targeted investigation rather than relying only on descriptive reporting.
  • Translate findings into prioritized actions and partner with accountable business owners to implement approved process, workflow, or operating changes.
  • Establish the baseline, target, owner, measurement period, and value hypothesis for priority initiatives; track realized revenue, margin, savings, productivity, adoption, or data-quality impact.
  • Facilitate requirements, root-cause, and action-planning sessions with frontline employees, functional leaders, technical teams, and executives.

Analytics & Data Quality

  • Develop and maintain governed Power BI analytical products that highlight drivers, exceptions, risks, opportunities, and required actions, not only historical results.
  • Create role-specific scorecards and self-service experiences using clear KPI definitions, intuitive navigation, appropriate drill paths, and documented business logic.
  • Validate calculations, relationships, data grain, refresh behavior, security requirements, and source-to-report reconciliation before release.
  • Monitor adoption and decision usage; improve, consolidate, automate, or retire reports that do not support a defined decision or business process.
  • Prioritize requests by business value, urgency, strategic alignment, effort, and data readiness to prevent low-value ad hoc reporting from displacing higher-impact work.
  • Analyze Dynamics 365 user behavior, opportunity-stage discipline, pipeline completeness, sales-cycle duration, account coverage, activity quality, and process adherence.
  • Identify CRM data-entry friction, incomplete records, duplicate entities, inconsistent definitions, ownership gaps, and workflow issues; coordinate remediation with process owners and enterprise IT.
  • Profile customer, product, vendor, pricing, opportunity, and activity data; maintain data-quality scorecards and monitor corrective actions to completion.
  • Define KPI standards, business rules, preventative controls, and data-entry practices with designated data owners to improve data quality at the source.
  • Document metric definitions, calculation logic, assumptions, data limitations, ownership, and escalation paths for critical analytical products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including revenue, gross margin, price, volume, mix, conversion, retention, productivity, and cost-to-serve concepts
  • Hands-on experience with data profiling, duplicate detection, business-rule validation, root-cause remediation, data-quality scorecards, and data-governance practices.
  • Working knowledge of dimensional modeling, data grain, table relationships, hierarchies, KPI logic, data lineage, and master data.

Interpersonal, Communications and Influencing skills:

  • Strong stakeholder-management skills, including prioritization, expectation setting, workshop facilitation, documentation, and transparent communication of data limitations.
  • Comfort working across cultures and organizational levels throughout the Americas, from frontline operations to executive leadership.
