Job Description

We are in search of a hard-working professional with a competitive spirit to join our Sales team as an Account Executive to lead the development of new accounts in Higher Education. The perfect candidate has superior time management skills, a proven track record of success, and an ability to look at and develop big picture strategy. This role requires a combination of sales, management, and strategic skills. Increasing levels of responsibility and independence are provided based on proven performance.  

The role will be supported by a Business Development Representative, who will work within the Account Executive’s regional territory to engage with outbound prospects and marketing-generated leads. The Account Executive is responsible for continuing to build the client relationship, negotiating, and closing deals.

Your specific responsibilities will include …

  • Growing and maintaining relationships with new and current Higher Ed customers

  • Developing a strategic plan to manage your regional territory and consistently hit quarterly sales targets

  • Building a robust pipeline using both an inbound/outbound model

  • Being a credible resource by developing knowledge of ever-changing industry trends

  • Managing and coaching your Business Development Representative

  • Working with your Business Development Representative to manage the full sales cycle

  • Developing and mapping cross-sell and upsell opportunities

  • Maintaining accurate pipeline and activity data through Salesforce

  • Traveling to client and potential clients as needed

  • 3-6 years of relevant sales experience

  • 2+ years of quota carrying sales experience

  • track record of over-achieving quota

  • superior time management and organization skills

  • the ability to take on new responsibilities successfully

  • a Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant SaaS enterprise experience within education technology sales

    • Candidates with experience working for a CRM, LMS, and SIS will be given special consideration

  • previous Sales Methodology training

  • existing industry relationships within higher ed

  • understanding of the higher ed space: admissions, financial aid, advising, etc.

Experience with ...

  • Salesforce

  • selling across university departments

  • selling to Provosts and C-Level suite in higher ed
