At Sidekicks, we provide personalized support services that enable individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to overcome daily obstacles, achieve goals and strive for independence. Our Sidekicks can be mentors, companions, therapists, job coaches and more. We are Sidekicks, because every Superhero needs one.

We are looking to add Direct Support Professionals in Monmouth/Ocean County to provide support services for families of individuals with disabilities. The hours are varied between mornings and evenings, weekdays and weekends.

• Must be passionate, accepting and empathetic towards individuals with disabilities.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with the primary caregiver and supervisor.
• Assist individuals in activities of daily living, companionship and recreational activities as guided by the individual’s superhero intake information.
• Work with individual to develop his/her goals.
• Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community.
• Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety.
• Act as a positive role model.
• Be with the individual for the duration of time requested.

• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Background Checks.
• References.
• CPR\First Aid trained.
• High school diploma.
• DDD Training a plus.
