Job Description

Sia Partners is a consulting Firm, HQ based in France and is fast growing in the US. It has now a presence in 8 cities, with approximately 375 staff.

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial and tax reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures, external audit management, acquisition accounting and performance tracking. The Senior Accountant will be in charge of the financial requirements for Sia Partners classic consulting activities in 8 locations (NY, Seattle, Charlotte, SF Bay Area, Denver, Houston, Chicago, Baltimore) as well as owned real estate. The successful candidate will manage a 3-4 person team. The Senior Accountant will be based in NY. Periodic travel to Sia Partners’ different locations may be required.

The role reports in line to the Group CFO based in Paris.

Qualifications

·    Hands on manager covering all finance and accounting operations for Sia Partners in the US, including a 3-4 person team. This includes consultant time capture, billing, A/R, A/P, travel and entertainment expense processing, GL, and revenue and cost / expense recognition

·    Automate processes while embedding controls to increase efficiency and accuracy of accounting reports

·    Coordinating and developing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

·    Preparing and publishing timely monthly information / metrics and quarterly financial statements

·    Coordinate the preparation of tax reporting for multiple entities and jurisdictions. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

·    Research technical accounting issues for compliance

·    Support monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes

·    Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

·    Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls in line with Group policies.

·    Additional controller duties as necessary including special projects

·    Monitor consulting activities to identify opportunities to grow profitability including metrics on the success of previous acquisitions, billing rates and costs (including proper overhead allocations) cost reductions and efficiencies

·    Develop various management reports across the US business to provide reporting on various business units within the US

·    Help integrate the acquisitions and monitor their performance to evaluate profitability, achievement of earn out targets, tax treatment, post-acquisition adjustments

·    Monitor cross border activity in Toronto and Panama

·    Help develop enhanced reporting for management that is both timely delivered but also accurate

·    Train and develop staff to provide them with growth and a variety of experience

 

Requirements

·    Proven working experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably in the services industry and experience in auditing (Public Accounting e.g. Big Four)

·    5-7 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience

·    Degree in Accounting

·    CPA preferred

·    Thorough knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting principles and procedures applicable to a consulting firm

·     Experience with creating financial statements where the accounts are fully supported with high quality documentation

·    Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

·    Excellent accounting software user and administration skills

·    Good writer and communicator, strong work ethic and drive to succeed and perform well, and hands on

·    Ability to work well in a global, multicultural firm
