Job Description

Backround: The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision requirements for the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book will have a profound impact on bank capital and trading desks. Many of our clients are struggling to master the implications: major increase in regulatory capital, major rebuild of trading and regulatory risk management systems, the need to manage huge amounts of market data, and the cost and complexity of implementation. There is a vast amount to be accomplished in the period up to go-live in January 2022.

Overview of position: Sia Partners is searching for senior consultants and managers to help our clients design, implement and manage cloud-based data architecture in order to deliver FRTB. Successful candidates will ideally possess the following attributes:

  • Knowledgeable about data requirements and architecture supporting market risk, credit risk, VAR, and market data systems
  • Experience in data analysis for projects involving major regulatory change impacting trading and banking systems. Examples would include Dodd-Frank, Volcker Rule and the LIBOR transition
  • Familiar with data requirements and architecture supporting banking and /or broker dealer activities / products,
  • Has knowledge of data required for valuation / pricing of trading and banking assets and liabilities
  • Experience of Agile/Scrum system development methodology
  • Experience of key functions and artifacts in the systems development life cycle, including: Project Management Office, Target Architecture, Target Operating Model, Workflow and Data Flow Analysis, Requirements Definition, Business Case Development, Roadmaps and Implementation Planning, Testing Strategy and User Acceptance Testing, Conversion Planning and Management
  • Level & title is determined on experience

Travel:  Client are mostly Financial Institutions based in NYC or Jersey City, though some are based in other financial centers in the US and Canada, and for the latter clients, travel will be required.

Qualifications

Personal performance attributes and credentials include:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Science.
  • 10-15 years’ experience, ideally in a major bank or broker dealer, and / or experience working in a consulting or technology firm supporting such businesses
  • Experience in developing high volume, cloud-based data solutions
  • Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to clients (whether internal or external)
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • High overall work performance standards
  • An impressive level of ambition and drive
  • Assumes full responsibility for tasks and project work

Additional Information
