What do we do?

In the UK, Sia Partners Energy & Utilities practice work with regulators, suppliers and infrastructure funds on a variety of projects. We are continuing to expand our consulting business in the UK and are looking for talented people who are committed to building relationships and delivering results. 

As part of our team, you will be involved in a range of projects with clients across the energy & utilities space, covering topics such as:

  • Business strategy definition & implementation: business plan creation and validation, strategy design and implementation, benchmarking;
  • Regulatory transformation: regulation impact analysis, stakeholder & customer engagement, audits and assessments, organisational gap analysis;
  • Business Improvement: business process mapping & re-engineering, performance management design & implementation, benchmarking & analysis;
  • Investor Assistance: regulatory analysis, financial modelling, performance assessment, due diligence;
  • Project & programme management: management of business and IS projects with both internal stakeholders and third parties.

As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for…

  • Delivering high quality work with limited oversight;
  • Leading work-streams or small projects;
  • Supporting the delivery of projects, potentially working across several clients in the UK and, if required, support overseas engagements;
  • Supporting the development of content and pitches for practice-related opportunities and proposals;
  • Actively contributing to the development of Sia Partners 'assets' and IP including methodology, tools, templates, guidelines and lead initiatives to continuously improve and integrate them with other Sia Partners assets across the Practice;
  • Assisting in marketing campaigns and overall external positioning of Sia Partners & your practice across social networks;
  • Facilitating own learning by self-study and receive training from more Senior members of the organisation;
  • Interacting with other industry teams within Sia Partners to share information.
  • Building and maintaining your own external professional peer networks;
  • Contributing to thought leadership, working on blogs and the development of Sia Partners ‘assets’ including methodology and tools;

Qualifications


What skills and experience are we looking for?

  • 2-4 years Management Consulting experience or other relevant experience in the Energy Industry e.g. utilities regulator, supplier or infrastructure fund;
  • Strong interest in the Energy sector;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • The ability to adapt rapidly, and work on a range of different business areas within a challenging environment and keeping to tight deadlines;
  • Project experience in one or more of the following areas: strategy design, regulatory analysis, operational improvement and/or project management;
  • A demonstrable understanding of the energy value chain;
  • Examples of utilising and visualising quantitative analysis to generate actionable insight.

What academic qualifications do you need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree (2:1) or international equivalent in a relevant subject. Engineering, Economics or Business preferred.
  • Ideally including an advanced business degree (e.g. MS, MBA)
