Job Description

Sia's Capital Markets (Corporate and Investment Banking) practice is seeking a Consultant with deep, hands-on knowledge of capital markets post-trade operations to support broker-dealer clients navigating complex operational, regulatory, and technology transformation challenges. This is a consulting practitioner role - we are looking for someone who understands how institutional trades move from execution to settlement, where they break, and what it takes to fix them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade Lifecycle transformation: Evaluate front-to-back trade flows to assess data standardization issues, manual touchpoints and settlement fails to find transformation opportunities to improving STP rates with automation

  • Operating Model Design: Evaluate existing operating models across front, middle, and back office functions; design current and future-state process flows; and develop Target Operating Models that improve operational efficiency, control, and scalability

  • Liaison with Technology & Automation: Work closely with Sia and clients’ technology teams to assist in developing automated solutions with an augmented consulting mindset. Leverage Sia’s AI and Data Science teams to bring solutions to client.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Conduct structured interviews across front office, operations, technology, and compliance functions; synthesize findings into clear, evidence-based recommendations; and present to client stakeholders with confidence and credibility

  • Project Leadership: Manage assessment workstreams including stakeholder planning, interview scheduling, data collection, and deliverable quality — while supporting and coaching junior team members and working with engagement leads

  • Business Development: Contribute to proposals, client presentations, and thought leadership content that reflects genuine practitioner expertise in capital markets post-trade operations

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in management consulting in Corporate and Investment Banking/Capital Markets or relevant roles in Financial Services, including Investment Banking, Sales and Trading, Fixed Income, Equities, or Operations.

  • Direct, working knowledge of the institutional trade lifecycle - order management, trade capture, allocation, confirmation and affirmation, clearing, DVP settlement, reconciliation, and fail management

  • Strong understanding of institutional broker-dealer businesses, including the operational, regulatory, and technology infrastructure that supports Equities and Fixed Income businesses

  • Familiarity with post-trade market infrastructure - including DTCC (CTM, ALERT, NSCC), SWIFT messaging standards, and custodian settlement workflows

  • Awareness of emerging industry trends including 24x5 continuous markets, settlement acceleration, ISO 20022 migration, tokenization, and AI-driven post-trade automation

  • Prior experience with regulatory, risk, strategy, technology, or operational change initiatives within CIB or Capital Markets.

  • Knowledge of regulations and securities transactions to help conduct requirement analysis, facilitate rule interpretations, document business requirements, document functional requirements and drive issue remediation.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with trade data, exception reports, and data anomalies statistics to produce quantitative, evidence-based findings

  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced client environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to distill complex operational and regulatory topics into clear, concise deliverables for senior audiences

  • Experience with project management and related collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, or other).

  • Microsoft office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.).

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
