Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Director, Data Strategy, to support our North American growth ambitions. 

As part of an international and fast-growing global community of 350+ data scientists supporting our 8 Centers-of-Excellence, you will be an important catalyst in the development and promotion of our offers and solutions across the continent. Your responsibilities will include:   

Business Development and Client Engagement

  • Collaborate with market leaders to cultivate and expand client relationships 
  • Lead “first call” engagements, support client proposals, and guide data campaign execution 
  • Contribute to organization-wide data strategy and help articulate a vision for data exploitation aligned with strategic business objectives 

Thought Leadership 

  • Author Data Strategy thought leadership pieces for digital distribution  
  • Support industry conference events as a panelist 
  • Conduct data related client workshops and demonstrations, actively showcasing Sia’s solutions 
  • Contribute to the development of global data governance strategies by helping design guiding policies and operational data management models, as well as participate in the implementation of a coordination and monitoring system dedicated to data 

Business Development Goals

  • Minimum Revenue Generated: $250,000.00
  • Minimum Managed Revenue: $1,000,000.00

Client Delivery & Project Oversight: 

  • Act as the data project lead for key client initiatives—advocating best practices in Data Strategy, Architecture, and Information Management 
  • Empower stakeholders through effective communication and client training sessions 
  • Develop tailored data solutions that address critical business challenges 

Technical Expertise 

  • Strategic & Architectural Expertise: 
    • Collaborate on the development of data valorization by participating in the definition of business objectives, use cases, and data roadmaps 
    • Develop tailored data strategies based on unique client requirements 
  • Data Foundation & Governance: 
    • Design and implement frameworks and tools to manage data governance 
    • Design data management and data modeling solutions, both cloud and on-premises  
  • Business Analytics & Implementation: 
    • Help develop predictive models of decision-making and advise on business intelligence solution architectures 
    • Delivery of data analytics and visualization solutions 

Team Development & Practice Building 

  • Recruit new talents and develop your team to reach the expectations of a rapidly growing Data & AI business line 
  • Build and lead your team on projects and in commercial endeavors 
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of data strategists, data architects, data analysts, and data engineers  
  • Provide industry guidance, strategies and implementation of best practices 
  • Build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment and mentor team members

Qualifications

  • Local networks and experience driving business development, client proposals and RFP’s 
  • A positive attitude, creativity, drive and the ability to think resourcefully 
  • Effective relationship management skills with an ability to build and extend professional networks and influence stakeholders 
  • A natural and intentional collaboration style along with strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, judgement and numerical skills 
  • An ability to work independently in a matrixed organization 
  • Advanced skills with the MS Office suite 

Specific Qualifications 

  • A university degree in Information Management, Business Intelligence, or another related discipline and ideally have approximately 7-9 years of successful experience on data transformation projects 
  • Prior experience as a Data Strategist 
  • Data and business analytics client delivery experience within an AI product and/or services company 
  • A keen interest with new technologies, trends, and transformations in the data market 
  • Prior experience in professional services is preferred (e.g., Big 4, Accenture, a dynamic Data & AI company and/or an enterprise data warehousing platform company such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Alteryx, Redshift, Teradata, Cloudera, Synapse, AWS or others) 
  • Advanced studies / post-graduate qualifications are advantageous

Office Workplace Guidelines
