Job Description

About the Role: As an Cloud Infrastructure Manager, you will lead a dynamic team of engineers dedicated to creating a scalable, high-performance, and resilient infrastructure. You should possess a strategic mindset while maintaining attention to detail. A robust background in public cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and security will be essential for your success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a center of excellence for infrastructure development, collaborating closely with European-based teams.
  • Manage and escalate delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes related to infrastructure development initiatives.
  • Assign and oversee technical personnel, ensuring optimal execution of infrastructure development and deployment.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on implementation, deployment planning, and the sustainability of technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with various IT teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues, offering subject matter expertise for enhancements and operational improvements.
  • Maintain issue tracking and documentation systems, providing reports that ensure transparency and visibility of issues and projects.
  • Identify opportunities for technical and process improvements and advocate for their implementation.
  • Maintain accurate project estimates, timelines, plans, and status reports.
  • Understand the intersection of development and operations (DevOps), including monitoring and management tools and deployment processes.
  • Demonstrate a high-level understanding of web application programming, APIs, databases, and system design.
  • Recommend process improvements based on industry best practices and standards.
  • Resolve conflicts with strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Develop standards and processes to proactively prevent operational issues.
  • Prepare internal reports on infrastructure initiatives for various stakeholders.
  • Create training materials, presentations, and documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and maintain standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of team management experience, including hiring, performance management, and leadership for teams of 10 or more.
  • Proven track record in building high-performing teams from the ground up.
  • Proficient with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kafka, and container orchestration technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud service providers, particularly AWS; experience with Tencent is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux command lines and supporting compute, storage, and network infrastructure systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with cloud provider ecosystems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams across various regions and time zones.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid program management expertise, including planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
