Job Description
At Shift, we are building a dynamic and agile payments operations team that will play a pivotal role in driving the efficiency, security, and growth of our payment functions. As a Payments Operations Specialist, you will have the opportunity to help shape and streamline our payments processes while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our organisation as we build a robust payments infrastructure in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
What you'll do
- Own and enforce effective change management for all payments-related processes, including financial crime prevention, integrity validations, and reporting.
- Maintain a well-governed process directory to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with payments industry SLAs, as well as adherence to AML/CTF reporting obligations.
- Be accountable for the execution of operational risk controls and ensuring robust compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee the timely execution of manual payments processes and ensure accurate end-of-day processes, including payment settlements.
- Resolve or escalate payments-related incidents in collaboration with the Payments Delivery Team.
- Implement and manage operational controls to ensure strict adherence to industry regulations, focusing on AML/CTF and broader compliance requirements.
- Assess incidents swiftly, apply structured problem-solving techniques, and escalate issues when necessary to ensure minimal disruption.
- Communicate process changes clearly and effectively, ensuring smooth transitions with a focus on maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Establish and maintain rigorous controls to ensure precision and accuracy in all operational processes.
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in payments operations or a similar role, with a solid understanding of financial crime prevention, AML/CTF reporting, and operational risk controls.
- Strong knowledge of payments industry SLAs, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing manual payments processes and ensuring payment settlements are accurate and timely.
- Exceptional problem-solving and escalation abilities to address operational challenges effectively.
- A collaborative mindset, working closely with cross-functional teams to define and shape a new payments function.
- Experience in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a focus on efficiency and compliance.
