Job Description
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you'll be part of a forward-thinking team, driving success for local businesses through innovative financial solutions. We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to help deliver accurate financial reporting, process improvements, and strategic insights that support the growth of the company.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate consolidated accounts, overseeing month-end processes with a focus on reconciliations and accounting standards.
- Monitor and analyse revenue and cost centres, offering insights into variances and behaviors.
- Compile management accounts and board packs, providing relevant commentary on performance, trends, and budget comparisons.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and treasury-related reporting.
- Drive process improvements, including automation of data entry and designing internal controls to enhance efficiency.
- Review the work of others and contribute to the development of the team.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and external reporting obligations (AFSL, APRA, BAS, FBT).
- Lead external audits and engage with auditors.
- Participate in ad hoc project tasks as required.
Qualifications
What You’ll Have:
- Qualified accountant with relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Solid experience in a similar role, ideally within lending services or adjacent financial services.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting standards.
- Experience with ERPs, including Technology One, Calumo, and Tableau (advantageous).
- Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, growing environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships.
- Capable of offering constructive insights in a collaborative manner.
