Job Description
The Business Development (BD) Coordinator is an integral part of the business development/proposal process. Under the direction of the Business Development Lead, the BD Coordinator will proactively assist in all aspects of the proposal process/business development. The BD Coordinator will contribute to pre-bid preparation through careful monitoring of upcoming opportunities and maintenance of Sheladia Associates, Inc.’s (Sheladia) internal opportunity pipeline. In addition, the BD Coordinator will assist with research on priority anticipated solicitations, key prospects and market analysis. At both the pre-bid (EOI) and live proposal stage, the BD Coordinator will support communication and collaboration within the international division, with partner firms and key personnel, while also regularly liaising with finance and technical staff of the firm. Additionally, the BD Coordinator will work with the entire BD Team in the development and refinement of the BD process, tools, and templates, and will also participate as a representative of Sheladia at external industry events and when advised. This position supports Sheladia’s International Division at company headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. The BD Coordinator will work on both multi-lateral bank and U.S. Government (USG) opportunities.
The Responsibilities for this Position Include but are not Limited to:
- Reviewing RFPs and developing Task Trackers and Compliance Matrices for proposals
- Coordinating with the team and experts on preparing different components of the proposals and EOIs
- CV formatting/editing as per project team/management request. Ensure that all documentation submitted complies with RFP requirements
- Assisting proposal team to prepare submissions including formatting, editing, developing spreadsheets, printing & production as required
- Assisting in USG and Multi-lateral Financing Institutions “capture” related activities, leading on specific opportunities as necessary and appropriate
- Preparing Sheladia’s Capabilities Statements for a variety of regional, country specific opportunities for one or multiple technical areas (transport, WASH, vertical structures, climate resilient infrastructure)
- Updating BD databases or records with new information as it becomes available
- Ensuring updated and accurate file management. Developing, managing, and maintaining a library of project description sheets (PDSs) and past performance ratings (PPRs)
- Serve as Proposal Facilitator on select live BD opportunities
- Transferring data from paper formats via computer, recorders, or scanners
- Correcting and modifying inaccurate files and records
- Organizing paper formats, paper backups and material source files as needed
- Assisting with technical or opportunity specific research as needed
- Editing and proofreading proposal and EOI materials, i.e. CVs, PDSs, etc.
- Coordinating, facilitating, and documenting internal post-proposal debriefs
- Other duties as directed by the Business Development Lead.
Qualifications
- BA degree in international development, international relations, Business Administration or related field; MA preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Business Development; experience with international development firms preferred
- Experience on BD activities for MCC, USAID, World Bank, Asian Development, Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank and other multi-lateral and bi-lateral financing agencies
- Experience in proposal management is desirable
- Communicates clearly, effectively and respectfully both verbally and in writing
- Strong writing and editing skills are required
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with a multicultural team
- Strong organizational and planning skills, multi-tasking skills, and attention to detail
- Customer service-oriented attitude and strong research skills
- Ability to adapt to new and/or unplanned situations to meet the dynamic needs of the company
- Strong computer skills and experience with SharePoint, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Additional Information
Proposed Salary: $60 - 75k annual
Sheladia Associates, Inc. has made the best effort to accurately represent the pay range for this position, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and any applicable cost of living data relevant to the position/candidate.
