The Road Safety Specialist is part of the services team and will be providing assistance to our team in Pakistan for a road construction supervision project. Following are the duties under this position:

1. Review and approve the safety plans of the contractor and monitor the safety of works and the safety of traffic diversions
2. Ensure compliance with regulations
3. Identify hazardous locations and conditions
4. Conduct safety study, collect and analyze preliminary date
5. Identify and collect field data, select and conduct appropriate detailed studies
6. Evaluate study results, determine safety and operational deficiencies
7. Identify potential safety and operational improvement and provide appropriate improvements
8. Set up the road safety supervision systems
9. Train the national staff and ensure that the system is in place
10. Carry out safety audit of design and maintain IRAP rating of 5 for all the road sections.

• Must possess a master's degree in civil engineering and must be a certified safety auditor.
• Must possess fifteen years of international experience with proven credentials as a safety auditor on major road projects.
• Prior experience on donor funded projects
• Previous experience in the region is highly desired.
