Job Description

Sheladia Associates is seeking a professional Pavement and Materials Engineer to join our team for a road project in Uzbekistan.

Individual will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing detailed testing and inspection of the materials and samples of all construction activities and materials required for the project, to ensure compliance with the contract designs and specifications
  • Reviewing, commenting upon and accepting the contractors' quality assurance plans and procedures; assisting the contractors with establishing on-site and laboratory based quality control, testing, and reporting procedures for all construction, workmanship, and materials; supervising the contractors in implementation of the quality assurance plans
  • Conducting on-site workshops and providing comprehensive technical guidelines to staff and to the national consultants, in-situ and laboratory testing and other activities as required
  • Preparing Project Quality Assurance Plan and Program with all aspects of quality and quantity control, which will guide implementation of the project.

Qualifications

  • Must be a certified civil engineer, with a minimum BSc engineering degree from a recognized University,
  • Must have at least 15 years of experience including 8 years of international experience (at least 3 countries outside his/her home-country) in assistance in all the phases of quality assurance process of Construction, specifically related to flexible and rigid type of pavements.
  • Must have proven knowledge of laboratory and other testing as well as quality control processes and methods.
  • The candidate should have a thorough understanding and experience with international standards and "Best Practices" of modern Quality Control methodology/ technology ad applications.
  • Prior regional experience is highly desired.
  • Must have excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of the English language.
  • Knowledge of the Russian language is highly desired.
