Job Description

The Application Consultant takes a key role in the implementation, support and on-going improvement of this exciting and highly successful cloud-based business application.  This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional to engage in an exciting project based environment, providing vital support to clients as they embrace the platform whilst also supporting the further development and future release cycle.

With exceptional technical acumen and a positive, business facing attitude – the successful candidate will be a key part of a developing business set for significant growth over the coming years.

  • Providing a 3rd line support escalation point for clients and the internal support teams.
  • Efficiently managing support requests using the online Support Desk powered by Zendesk.
  • Resolving complex problems often involving detailed investigation into application logic and configuration, as well as understanding the business scenario in which the problem is occurring.
  • Supporting the implementation and configuration cycles on behalf of multiple clients by:
    • Facilitating requirement gathering and solution workshops.
    • Developing the implementation plan.
    • Detailing business requirements for client approval.
    • Detailing technical requirements through the creation of clear development documentation.
    • Acting as a key point of contact for the client throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Creating customer communications using multiple channels e.g. Web, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Email for new features, “how-to’s”, white papers etc.
  • Authoring and running webinars demonstrating new functionality to existing customers, open forum discussions and how-to webinars
  • Proactively generating white papers and best practice documentation
  • Supporting the internal development of the platform implementation methodology. 
  • Supporting ‘pre-sales’ activities through the provision of software demonstrations and through the definition and articulation of the client implementation path.
  • Planning and delivery of training where necessary.
  • Contributing to commercial processes and documentation such as SOW’s, RFQ’s, RFP’s and ITT’s.

Qualifications

Candidates will typically have:

  • A Minimum of 4 years commercial experience within a software development, business analysis or implementation consulting environment.
  • Experience and appreciation of modern application development technologies, and agile working practices such as Scrum.
  • Developed knowledge of the trends in information technology, especially ‘Cloud’ computing and SaaS concepts.
  • Experience in the implementation of on-premise or cloud-based business applications such as CRM, ERP, BI or HCM.
  • A computer science or related degree to at least a 2:1 level.
  • Sound communication skills including business writing and excellent spoken and written English

Additional skills that would be very beneficial:

  • Salesforce CRM / Force.com development
  • OO programming language e.g. Java, C# and sound understanding of design patterns
  • Report writing
  • SQL / SOQL
  • HTML, CSS, Javascript, Excel, VBA
