Job Description
The ServiceNow Brand Strategy and Creative team is a passionate group of creative thinkers responsible for shaping the future of the ServiceNow brand. We're looking for an Associate Creative Director of Motion Design to help define and evolve how our brand moves—across every channel and touchpoint, internal and external.
In this role, you are both a maker and a leader, a designer and animator with expert command of motion and design principles including keyframes, timing, and visual systems. You demonstrate strong ownership and are fueled by a passion to create beautifully animated work. You are adept at interpreting the core objectives of the brief and can translate them into non-linear creative solutions that deliver for the customer with bias for action. You are a strategic thinker and bring a point of view to your work providing clear, effective direction to artists and agencies. You field and reconcile feedback from leadership with judgment and composure, staying sharp under pressure while managing multiple workstreams. You bring a growth mindset that thrives in ambiguity and welcomes new ways of working.
Reporting to the Creative Director of Motion Design and partnering with brand leadership, you'll lead creative development and execution across some of our highest impact brand events and initiatives. You invite collaboration and partner closely with internal teams, freelancers, and external agencies to bring world-class motion design to life.
Responsibilities:
Own motion design projects end-to-end, from brief through delivery, across major brand initiatives, campaigns, and tier-one events- driving them independently while keeping the creative director and leadership updated.
Bring a strong creative point of view to every workstream, helping to define the vision, and setting the standard for executional excellence.
Design and animate directly, especially for key initiatives that require hands-on creative leadership.
Maintain and evolve our brand motion language, ensuring consistency and craft across events, market launches, and core brand touchpoints. Scale motion systems and workflows by contributing to standards, templates, toolkits, and best practices.
Manage multiple projects and programs in parallel, staying composed and effective under pressure and tight deadlines.
Field and reconcile feedback from leadership, exercising judgment to translate input into a clear creative path forward.
Direct, mentor, and provide clear, effective direction and feedback to motion designers, freelancers, and agency partners, raising the bar across all motion output.
Partner cross-functionally with brand, marketing, product, and creative teams to align motion work with broader storytelling and business goals.
Communicate effectively across creative peers, project management, strategy, senior leadership, and business partners, aligning stakeholders around a creative vision and knowing when to ask the right questions.
Explore and integrate AI-driven tools and techniques to expand what's possible and improve how the team works.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in motion design and creative direction, including prior leadership running workstreams and directing others. A strong creative point of view, with the ability to field and reconcile leadership feedback and provide clear direction to others.
A portfolio that demonstrates strong design and typography fundamentals, a range of styles, and a diversity of project types.
Mastery of motion and design principles, timing, keyframes, and visual systems, with fluency in speed and value curves.
Expert knowledge of relevant tools, including After Effects, Cinema 4D, Redshift, and Figma, along with modern motion workflows.
Experience working on tier-one brand moments such as global events, major campaigns, or product launches.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Can develop project and initiative presentations from strategy to execution. Able to align stakeholders around a creative vision and ask smart questions that move work forward.
Proven ability to run multiple projects and programs in parallel, prioritize effectively, and deliver under pressure and tight deadlines. Strong time management and composure across competing priorities.
Demonstrated people management experience, coaching and developing team members and directing contractors and external agencies.
Experience leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into creative processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
