Job Description

ServiceNow is looking for a government affairs professional to join a global team for a position as Senior Manager, Global Government Affairs and Public Policy. Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Global Government Affairs and Public Policy, this individual will advise and inform ServiceNow’s leadership on all key policy, legislative, regulatory, and global issues that might impact the Company.

This position is based in ServiceNow’s Capitol Hill office in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating subject matter expertise in cybersecurity, AI, cloud, enterprise software/SaaS, and emerging technology policy and regulatory issues.
  • Representing ServiceNow in meetings with the Administration, federal agency, independent agency, and legislative branch officials and subject matter experts.
  • Working closely with teammates, consultants, public, and private sector teams to execute an ambitious global public policy and regulatory program.
  • Communicating regularly with internal business line owners, sales and product teams to ensure awareness of potential risks and benefits of various policy, legislative, and regulatory initiatives.
  • Monitoring and providing timely and insightful reports and analyses on developments and trends specific to the ServiceNow’s public policy priorities and regulatory issues which may impact the company’s bottom line. Such priorities could include a wide range of corporate issues including AI, tax, trade, cyber and data security, cloud, data sovereignty and data residency regulation, privacy, intellectual property, encryption, future of work, workforce development, procurement, and data processing, controlling, governance, and interoperability, and related regulation of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and machine learning.
  • Leading discussions with industry coalitions and working groups and collaborating with subject matter experts across a variety of stakeholders, issues, and disciplines.
  • Gaining a deep knowledge of ServiceNow’s business, including value delivered to federal, state, and local government customers.
  • Collaborating with public and private sector teams globally and from across the business.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience working on policy, legislative, and regulatory topics and issues in a federal or state government agency, Capitol Hill office, trade organization, or company, with a focus on cybersecurity, AI, enterprise software/SaaS, and/or emerging technology policy and regulation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory stakeholder engagement processes, operations, best practices, strategies, workflows, and correspondence.
  • Strong writing skills including e-mails, letters, analyses, recommendations, requests for information, and other policy documents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including experience speaking at conferences, and attending and staffing official engagements, events, meetings, and/or travel.
  • Keen organizational, communication, and management skills, experience managing projects that involve numerous stakeholders, dynamics, and communications flows.
  • Intellectual curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a willingness to “dream big.
  • Enthusiasm, interest, and/or background in technology issues, tax, trade, cybersecurity, and/or AI regulatory policy, as well as government efficiency and modernization, including around citizen services, auditability, and procurement.
  • Deep integrity and excellent values that immediately generates respect and trust, internally and externally.
  • Ability to present ServiceNow priorities to government officials and explain sophisticated regulatory and policy matters to senior executives across business units.
  • Executive presence, coupled with strong communication, teamwork, and advocacy skills.
  • Self-starter with a team-player mentality. Capable of handling multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Ability to formulate and implement innovative policy solutions to advance ServiceNow’s business and purpose.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $143,300 - $250,700, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
