Role

The Inbound Product Manager resides within the Product Organization. This role is extraordinarily collaborative, working not only with peer inbound and outbound product managers, but also cross-functionally with engineering, QE, design, documentation, sales, and others.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Guide Product Strategy:

Evaluate competitive and market data, along with product analytics and financial data, to develop a point of view on product priorities. Write business cases for investments and deliver these insights in senior-level management meetings.

  • Manage the Roadmap:

Build and manage a backlog of customer and/or market validated ideas and requirements which translate to a clear minimum viable product with differentiators. 

  • Execute Product Development:

Work with user experience and engineering teams to bring ideas to life. Collaborate with other ServiceNow product teams to resolve and execute cross-team dependencies. Ensure successful delivery of product releases.

  • Product Enablement and Success:

Collaborate with outbound product management, sales, marketing, education services and other product teams to cement product success. Develop enablement collateral which helps to create the “whole product.”

  • Create and Grow Partnerships:

Explore and pitch inorganic methods of providing solutions which solve problems for customers. Create a strategy for technical and strategic partnerships which further the product team’s goals.

Qualifications

Key requirements:

  1. Experience:
    • Either one of:
      1. 5+ years of inbound product management experience for a sourcing product, OR
      2. 5+ years of product management experience in Enterprise SaaS products and 5+ years of industry experience in sourcing (e.g. as a Sourcing Manager, Category Manager, Global Supply Manager, etc.).
    • Strong familiarity with systems / tools commonly utilized in sourcing and procurement processes, such as ERPs, RFP tools, etc.
    • Preferred understanding of industry best practices, regulations, and emerging trends.
  2. Adaptability and Learning:
    • Demonstrated adaptability to new product management methodologies and a willingness to discard practices that don't serve our team, product, or customers.
  3. Investment Prioritization:
    • Clear articulation of the prioritization and validation process for proposed investments, supported by data demonstrating benefits to the business or customers.
  4. Agile and Scrum:
    • Experience in Agile and/or Scrum methodologies (certification not mandatory).
  5. Prioritization Skills:
    • Strong prioritization skills with a focus on high-impact activities.
  6. Product Roadmapping:
    • Proficiency in gathering and translating product requirements into a comprehensive product roadmap.
  7. Problem Identification:
    • Ability to identify and prioritize industry and customer problems before proposing solutions.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including development, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure successful product delivery.
  9. User Experience (UX) Understanding:
    • Understanding of user experience principles and collaboration with UX/UI teams to create intuitive and user-friendly solutions.
  10. Analytics and Metrics:
    • Use of analytics and metrics for product performance evaluation, with the ability to iterate based on data-driven insights.
  11. Integration Capabilities:
    • Experience or understanding of integrating products with other enterprise solutions commonly used in sourcing and procurement processes.
  12. Global Perspective:
    • Ability to understand and address the diverse needs of a global user base.
  13. Change Management Skills:
    • Proficiency in change management to navigate and drive adoption of new features or changes within client organizations.
