Job Description

Position Summary:

As the Director of Project Management, you’ll take the lead in managing and developing the Project Management department and staff, along with acting as a Project Manager. You’ll work closely with your department team, customers, and company personnel of each department involved (Engineering, Assembly, Machine Shop, and Sales) to ensure proper scheduling, management, communication, and execution of project deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership ability, communication & organization skills, passion for providing excellent customer service, and drive to deliver consistent and exceptional project management service.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Manage and oversee project management department, budget, and staff.

Proper management of staff, which includes interviewing, hiring, promotions, disciplining, and termination.

Improve and streamline department processes and procedures, including scheduling, training, and department development in accordance with department budget.

Support Company’s 5-Star service standards and initiatives to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and service from project management department.

Monitor all department scheduling and deadlines, as well as independently manage own projects:

    • Develop detailed project schedule plans, with project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
    • Oversee project schedules, testing materials, onsite visits and design reviews with customers.
    • Support customer and project team member needs throughout the “life-cycle” of projects.
    • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
    • Manage the relationship with customers and internal project stakeholders.
    • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
    • Report and escalate issues to management appropriately as needed.
    • Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of customer projects.
    • Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
    • Develop strong knowledge of company equipment and customers.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with customers and internal personnel.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
    • Respond to project-related questions and feedback from customers and company personnel.
    • Partner with and support Engineering Manager as needed.  

Qualifications

·         5 years experience in project management.

·         Strong leadership ability to manage and develop a department staff.

·         Proficient Mechanical aptitude ability

·         Excellent interpersonal skills to manage relations with customers and company personnel

·         Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

·         Effective organizational skills, attention to detail, scheduling, and multi-tasking ability

·         Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

·         Skilled proficiency with Microsoft Project and Excel desired
