Job Description
As a key member of a dynamic fast growing business unit provide networking design expertise insuring a smoothly performing digital system from edge collection through cloud utilization. This role will serve as a key member of technology developments providing networking expertise to all developments. Further, the individual will provide networking expertise to project execution teams as required and provide design oversight and approval to networking aspects of digital proposals.
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Collaborating & coordinating with technology & security teams
- Planning & arranging scheduled upgrades
- Investigating faults in the network
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders
- Implementing, monitoring, and deploying disaster recovery systems and measures
- Collaborating & approving network design in complex digital solution project proposals
Qualifications
- 8+ years' experience in network engineering role
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical, networking, or electronics engineering
- An analytical mind
- A demonstratable ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Good time management skills
- An ability to work in a process driven team environment
- Strong documentation skills
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal
- Commercial and business awareness
