Job Description

We’re looking for a seasoned Design Manager to lead the growing design team in our Bangalore office. To begin with, this is a player-coach role. You will be mentoring and coaching the product designers to excel at their craft, help elevate the design maturity across product pods, and have hands-on design responsibility on strategic design projects. You will report to the Head of Design in California. 
 

What You'll Do

  • As the senior most design leader in our Bangalore office, represent design at the highest level, manage a team of 3 product designers, and help scale and grow the team
  • Be the hands-on design lead for strategic design projects; own the end-to-end product design lifecycle from problem definition to ideation, validation, implementation, and future iterations
  • Facilitate design workshops and bring design thinking to the forefront of product strategy discussions
  • Help define frameworks and UX patterns for how we communicate the ROI of our products with analytics and insights to various customer segments, user personas and decision-makers
  • Drive design process, collaboration, and operations optimisation
  • Help define and inspire long-term direction while delivering high-quality products on a regular cadence
  • Ensure Sense remains simple, intuitive, and approachable by enabling designers to work across projects, products, and teams
  • Define and evolve our processes and tools, building constructive and healthy systems for sharing work and feedback between people, functions, and teams
  • You’ll set an extremely high bar for our craft and quality across visual design, interaction, UX, and content; while staying focused on our customers’ needs and our company’s goals
  • This is a hybrid role with a mix of people management and hands-on design responsibilities
  • Be part of a global team responsible for the user experience, brand design, and user research to support all product initiatives at Sense

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • You have a strong track record of shipping B2B SaaS products that customers love
  • Some experience in Recruiting, HR tech or Talent Engagement domains
  • You have 3+ years of design leadership experience, with direct reports and ownership of company goals
  • You have 7-10 years of hands-on product design experience, building, and shipping high-quality products
  • You collaborate well cross-functionally—especially with research, product management, engineering, and data— and pride yourself on being able to get teams of smart people working together toward strategic objectives
  • You have experience sharing and representing work in large forums, tailoring your communication to the needs of your audience
  • You have built, or are committed to building, diverse and inclusive product teams
  • You will be comfortable with a hybrid work setup, with at least 3 days in the Bangalore office
