Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our team in Avocet Playa Vista. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a smooth dining experience for all patrons.
- Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival
- Manage reservations and coordinate seating arrangements efficiently
- Guide guests to their tables and present menus
- Communicate effectively with wait staff to ensure seamless service
- Maintain an organized and clean reception area
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries about the restaurant
- Assist in preparing the dining room for service and special events
- Monitor wait times and manage guest expectations
- Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to address any guest concern
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and restaurant policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Basic math skills for managing reservations and table assignments
- Knowledge of food service and dining etiquette
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Proficiency in restaurant management software is a plus
