We're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team in Cincinnati, United States. In this role, you'll play a vital part in our food service operations, ensuring that residents or patients receive nutritious, appetizing meals that meet their specific dietary needs. As a Dietary Aide, you'll work collaboratively with our culinary and healthcare teams to maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer care.   • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with established portion control procedures, ensuring compliance with prescribed therapeutic and modified diets
  • Deliver meal trays and food carts to residents or patients in a timely manner, verifying accuracy of content and presentation
  • Set up, organize, and maintain dining areas to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
  • Assist in the preparation of menu items and snacks under the guidance of kitchen staff
  • Collect and distribute menus for each meal period and gather feedback from residents or patients
  • Perform kitchen utility duties including sweeping, mopping, washing small wares, and sanitizing work surfaces, cutting boards, and equipment
  • Remove soiled items and equipment from dining areas and deliver them to the dishwashing station
  • Assist with inventory control, stocking supplies, and organizing food items for upcoming meal periods
  • Maintain strict adherence to all local, state, and county health department regulations and food safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with residents or patients, coworkers, and management, demonstrating patience and empathy when interacting with individuals who may have hearing or cognitive impairments
  • Attend required training sessions, in-services, and staff meetings to maintain current knowledge of departmental procedures and standards
  • Support team members in achieving departmental goals while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Entry-level experience in food service, hospitality, or a related field (0-3 years preferred)
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety certification from local, county, or state health department
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse populations, including those with hearing or cognitive impairments
  • Fundamental understanding of therapeutic diets, sanitation practices, and food service techniques
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written, oral, and schedule-based instructions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility setting
  • Basic knowledge of meal preparation and cooking techniques
  • Experience with dietary management systems or food service software
  • Bilingual capabilities
  • Certification in CPR or First Aid
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in team-oriented environments
