Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Dining Services to join our team in Egg Harbor Township, United States. As the leader of our dining operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service, ensuring exceptional quality, and creating memorable dining experiences for our residents.
- Develop and implement innovative dining programs that align with our organization's goals and resident preferences
- Manage and mentor a team of dining staff, fostering a collaborative and customer-focused environment
- Oversee menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery to maintain high standards of quality and presentation
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, health codes, and organizational policies
- Manage department budgets, control costs, and optimize operational efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall resident satisfaction and well-being
- Conduct regular quality assessments and implement improvements based on feedback and industry trends
- Oversee purchasing and inventory management for all food and non-food items
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
- Lead staff training initiatives to enhance skills and maintain service standards
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident inquiries and concerns regarding dining services
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred
- ServSafe certification and any other required local, county, or state food safety certifications
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Strong financial acumen, including experience in budget management and cost control
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Demonstrated knowledge of food safety regulations, health codes, and nutritional guidelines
- Proficiency in menu planning and ability to accommodate various dietary needs
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, staff, and vendors
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to creating exceptional dining experiences
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle high-pressure situations
- Proficiency in using computer systems for inventory management, scheduling, and reporting
- Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
