Job Description

Join a leading aerospace team supporting Bombardier business jet programs in Wichita, KS.

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Painter / Aviation Painter to perform surface preparation, spray painting, and finishing on corporate aircraft, including Global and Challenger platforms. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality finishes on large aircraft structures in a production environment.

  • Perform surface preparation, sanding, masking, and cleaning of aircraft prior to paint application
  • Apply primer, topcoat, and aerospace coatings using spray equipment (HVLP preferred)
  • Mask, unmask, and protect sensitive aircraft areas including windows and components
  • Remove existing coatings, contaminants, and residues using approved methods and materials
  • Perform bodywork including putty application, sanding, buffing, and polishing
  • Apply chemical treatments such as Alodine to aircraft surfaces
  • Execute touch-up and refinishing work to meet quality standards
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Document completed work per Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM)
  • Support aircraft movement and assist other team members as required
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production guidelines in a regulated aerospace environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Aircraft Painter, Aviation Painter, or Aerospace Painter
  • Experience painting full aircraft or large structures (corporate jets preferred)
  • Strong background in surface preparation, masking, priming, and spray painting
  • Experience with HVLP spray systems and industrial/aerospace coatings preferred
  • Automotive painting experience accepted only if it includes full-body or large-scale work
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Flexibility to work different shifts as required
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
