The engineering specialist will be in charge of:

  • Lead the product development process for his components, create & Maintain Part Numbers in PLM or EBOM and TeamCenter
  • Support packaging on integrating (placing in the vehicle) new audio components
  • Translate customer level requirements into technical requirements (Functional, Software, Hardware and testing) for systems in his perimeter, and release them in PLM / GST
  • Actively support and ensure the integrity of the codesign activities deliverables related to HW, SW and Mechanical development (eg: DFMEA, Drawings, virtual validation/simulation reports)
  • Identify and assess technical risks on design changes and contribute to identify countermeasures to minimize impacts on quality, timing and costs (eg: defining robust test plans, benchmark technical solutions, technologies, or performances)
  • He will Initiate & Process component CCD/CN/IAA/PER (including initial approval imperatives (cost, timing, etc.) and lead Component shortage activities and recovery plans (chip or material).
  • Deliver homologation compliance reports and support certifications execution
  • Contribute to the definition of technologic roadmaps for continuously improving and innovating technologies in main areas of interest (eg: materials, mechanics, surfaces treatments, internal and external lousdspeakers, mmplifiers, microphones, sound generator systems).
  • Report about issues status and root cause analysis. He will escalate were needed and prepare recovery plans, driving the appropriate corrective actions.

He/she will work in close contact with other organizational areas and specialists such as style designers, suppliers, integrators, interiors, ergonomics, testing, customer experience, supplier quality, purchasing, plants and report directly to the Design Responsible. A fluent spoken technical English is a mandatory pre-condition since all technical documents and most of the daily interactions involve are in this language.

Qualifications

Preferred technical knowledge:

  • Electrical/electronics:  amplifier technologies, microphone tehnologies, automotive MCUs and DSPs, A2B and CAN transceivers, mosfets, loudspeakers design and related testing methodologies / preventive failure analysis
  • Audio: audio components design and measurements on bench and on vehicle (SPL, THD, Frequency response, Impedance), related virtual / physical testing methodologies
  • Mechanics and materials: plastic molding, metal casting, plastics, materials coupling, structural design, adhesives, related virtual / physical testing methodologies and preventive failure analysis, FEM and Moldflow
  • Software: Architectures for automotive electronic systems, diagnostics, SW and FW testing, Cybersecurity, audio codecs, voice recognition, noise management, noise cancellation, audio tuning
