Job Description

We are looking for experienced Aircraft StructuresTechnicians to assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision structural and system components. Candidates will work from blueprints, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established procedures. The role will involve conducting functional tests, ensuring proper fit, form, and function of assemblies, and correcting any issues that arise during assembly.

Assembly & Installation:

  • Work with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to assemble and install parts and assemblies according to quality requirements.
  • Perform manual and automated assembly operations, including all necessary machine functions to accomplish assignments.
  • Setup and operate fastening equipment, including CNC and conventional tools, to assemble components per engineering specifications.

Sealing & Pressure Testing:

  • Seal parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies (e.g., fillet and fay sealing, apply leveling compounds).
  • Perform pressure/vacuum tests and conduct visual and auditory leak checks in aircraft sections.

Fabrication & Rework:

  • Perform any required pickup, rework, fabrication, change incorporation, and functional testing during or after final assembly.
  • Assist in maintaining the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training, coaching, and supporting other team members.

Inspection & Documentation:

  • Inspect and document non-conformances on final assemblies, subassemblies, systems, and installations.
  • Verify dimensions of parts using both mechanical and electronic measurement tools.
  • Document discrepancies according to specifications, processes, and procedures.

General Maintenance & Support:

  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance such as replacing filters, changing light bulbs, and maintaining lubrication/coolant levels as part of Total Preventative Maintenance duties.
  • Move product within the manufacturing area using shop equipment, ensuring products are ready for the next operation.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship or authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in aircraft assembly, specifically with sealing, structural, and system components.
  • Proven experience with sealing (wing box panels, fuel cell sealing) should be clearly noted on the resume.
  • Experience in drilling, countersinking, and riveting aluminum/titanium materials.
  • Expertise in bucking and shooting rivets, Winslow & nutplate installation, and sheet metal assembly (Hi-Lok, rivet, fastener torque installation).
  • Ability to operate and maintain CNC and conventional fastening equipment (e.g., Multi-Task Gantry Riveters, Brotje’s, C-Frames, IPAC’s).
  • Ability to perform visual inspections and accurately measure dimensions using precision tools.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, specifications, and quality control.

Other Requirements:

  • Must pass the “Plate Test” as part of the hiring process.
  • Must be flexible and available to work weekends and any shift as required by the business.

Note: Sealing experience is mandatory. Candidates without sealing experience will not be considered.
