Job Description

Segula is seeking individuals who can support our client project on site in Macungie, Pennsylvania. The overall goal of the project is setting-up the assembly line for new truck introduction.

  • Creating & maintaining assembly instructions by connecting the BSLs (Basic Structure Line) to core Instruction 250 BSL/week
  • Preparing 5-10 assembly aids/week
  • Performing the time studies for new process by using time MCTM (Methods calculate Time Montage) standards.
  • Identifying the tooling & equipment needs based on new product changes & process.
  • Initiate TER and design the solution along with Volvo T&E Engineers
  • Industrialize the new tooling, equipment’s, fixtures and lifting hooks.
  • Work with operations, logistics, Quality functions and support production with zero downtime mindset
  • Industrialize new product and process changes according to project gate plan deliverables with zero disturbance mindset.
  • Determining the assembly sequence, time standards & line balancing
  • Define the parts location & develop the station design.
  • Identify the Maintenance need, issue Work Requests & follow-up.
  • Identify the Kit carts need, issue work order requests & follow-up.
  • Identify and correct Bill of Material and assembly instruction issues.
  • Analyze and recommend manufacturing processes, equipment, gauging, and tooling towards zero defects.
  • Identify product & process issues in assembly process and resolve by applying problem solving tools & methods. (PRIME, PILs, Engineering concerns logs)
  • Participate in cross functional meetings & Engineering networks to contribute and roll out Manufacturing Engineering activities/responsibilities.

Qualifications

Competencies required for this project include:

  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing preferably automotive or heavy commercial vehicle industry.
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, manufacturing, the product, production standards and efficiency optimization tools; process oriented
  • Problem Solving/Decision Making: Taking a well-ordered approach to solving problems and acting despite obstacles, resistance, or ambiguity.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills and demonstrated focus on process and Lean Manufacturing concepts.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to manage change.
  • Proven ability to react to issues impacting production with a sense of urgency, promptly assessing the issue and developing a feasible action plan and following it through to successful completion.
  • Experience in a team-based environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills; proficient in Excel, Power Point and Word

Specific software knowledge requirements include:

  • AutoCAD
  • Catia/Creo
