As a Senior Technical Specialist your role encompasses various critical tasks essential for supporting our automotive customer to deploy its successful decarbonization program. Below are the detailed deliverables associated with your position: 

1. **Technology Selection Support:** 

   - Collaborate closely with the technical business unit and plant personnel to assess project requirements and objectives. 

   - Conduct comprehensive analyses to evaluate the suitability of different heating technologies for specific project needs. 

   - Provide expertise and recommendations to aid in the selection of the most suitable technology for each project, considering factors such as efficiency, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness. 

2. **RFQ Scope and Technical Specification Development:** 

   - Work closely with stakeholders to define the scope of requests for quotation (RFQ) for heating projects. 

   - Develop detailed technical specifications that clearly outline project requirements and objectives. 

   - Assist the purchasing department in formulating RFQ documents, ensuring alignment with project goals and technical standards. 

3. **RFQ Process Support:** 

   - Provide technical guidance and support to purchasing teams during the RFQ process. 

   - Collaborate with procurement professionals to ensure that RFQs accurately reflect technical requirements and specifications. 

   - Assist in evaluating vendor proposals and clarifications to facilitate informed decision-making. 

4. **Quote Analysis and Comparison:** 

   - Conduct thorough analysis and comparison of quotes received from vendors, focusing on technical aspects, pricing, and adherence to specifications. 

   - Develop evaluation criteria and matrices to systematically assess and rank competing technical solutions. 

   - Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, supporting decision-making processes. 

5. **Market Scanning and Partner Identification:** 

   - Conduct regular market scans to stay abreast of advancements in heating technologies, emerging trends, and potential partners. 

   - Identify and evaluate technical solutions and potential partners/vendors through market research and analysis. 

   - Establish and maintain relationships with technology providers, fostering collaboration and strategic partnerships. 

6. **Development of Support Materials and Communication:** 

   - Create technical documentation, presentations, and other support materials to facilitate project understanding and decision-making. 

   - Synthesize complex technical information into clear and concise communications for various stakeholders. 

   - Provide communication support by presenting technical information to non-technical audiences and addressing inquiries or concerns. 

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor/master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related field
• in-depth knowledge of heating systems, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and renewable energy principles
• experience/projects in designing and implementing heating technologies (biomass, heat pump, biomethane, etc.)
• excellent communication skills, ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• experience with projects about decarbonization heating systems 
• experience with project management - methodology and tools, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
• familiarity with industry standards across Europe/worldwide, codes, regulations
• professional certifications in renewable energy or heating energy (for example certified energy manager) would be a plus.
