Job Description
SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, the Electrical Manufacturing Engineer will be primarily responsible for solving electrically - based product issues, through electrical test and error proofing systems for manufacturing. Responsible for all aspects of a given project. At Seek, our technology and engineering expertise delivers innovation and disruption in the infra-red space. It’s a dynamic environment, so we’re looking for a team player with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple products and projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fully analyze Seek’s product set and the processes / equipment required to achieve 100% test coverage (direct or indirect) for all components, sub-assemblies, and systems.
- Evaluate alternative processes by performing analysis, modeling and technical trade-off studies to achieve improvement of manufacturing processes and tests.
- Supports existing product lines. Leads improvement in process, equipment and design changes.
- Research and develop new analysis and test technologies for use in existing and new products.
- Debug test fixtures (software and hardware).
- Manage calibration and preventive maintenance activities.
- Develop troubleshooting guides for products.
- Some Business travel is required
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to troubleshoot electronics at the component level
- Ability to troubleshoot product performance issues using electrical schematics generated by OrCAD capture, Altium, etc.
- Generate and analyze test data and reports to improve the current manufacturing process.
- Experience in system integration of software and hardware systems.
- Experience in Gerber, ODB++, DFM/DFT modules (any type)
- Knowledge of the Microsoft office package and Visio
- Some knowledge of Analog circuit and Microcontroller based design
- Generation of Engineering Documentation
- Exposure to the NPI Process, including DFx, FMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ
DESIRED SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of software programing using VB.net, C# or C++, LabView
- Knowledge and experience of FMEA and six Sigma based design
- Analysis of Test Process and fixture costs
- Exposure to MES, PLM, ERP, solid works software packages
- PCBA test experience is strongly desired, with wafer test experience a plus
- Functional and In-Circuit test fixture design is strongly desired
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, MS a plus
- 5+ years’ work experience in improving manufacturing yields from an EE point of view
