About the Role

We are looking for a results-oriented, versatile marketing pro to join our team. Here at Seed&Spark, we ensure that all kinds of stories are told and that all kinds of storytellers have avenues to spark vibrant conversations among people everywhere with their work. One of the ways we support this mission is through our crowdfunding platform, where we focus on how to make creators successful, and more specifically, how to set them up for success on raising the funds they need for their projects. 

As our Marketing Senior Manager, you will promote our products to our customers, optimizing our marketing strategies and tools, as well as manage the marketing department's budget and staff. Our ideal candidate has experience developing and executing marketing campaigns while managing and inspiring a team. You are comfortable with taking on the day-to-day marketing activities, as well as stepping back and looking at the big picture, defining long-term strategy.

You are part of our sales and marketing team, reporting directly to the CEO, and will work closely alongside Sales, Creator Success, and Product Management to ensure our products are positioned successfully. This role can grow with you, as we grow the business. This is an exciting opportunity within our team, using your experience to help craft and evolve this function into a sustainable, effective marketing team.  This role includes leadership responsibilities and has two direct reports.This is a full-time position.

You have several years of experience in B2C marketing, with success in many areas of digital marketing, including email, social, and virtual events. You have experience marketing more grassroots than paid growth, you love education as an avenue for building brand trust, and you have experience designing and executing creative and high-impact programs that don't need Facebook ads to be successful. We are a small team and that excites you because you thrive when given the opportunity to mix leadership and strategy with execution. You are a doer and a planner.

Expected Outcomes for a Marketing Sr. Manager:

Core Activities for the Marketing Sr. Manager:

  • Develop market strategy for our products and services, finding ways to expand our reach and accessibility to creators and audiences through current and new platforms and mediums

  • Define and oversee marketing campaigns, including across events and educational content

  • Own the marketing content calendar

  • Either execute campaign deliverables or delegate tasks to team members as appropriate

  • Define and track quarterly and annual goals/OKRs and KPIs for the marketing team

  • Provide leadership and people management to direct reports within the department

  • Analyze market trends, data, and insights to guide on-going strategy

  • Manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient marketing spend

  • Develop the strategy, manage outreach, and secure sponsorship opportunities for our education and events

  • Represent Seed&Spark's values in the world, with a deep commitment to equity and belonging

  • Other marketing-related duties as needed or requested by the business

Qualifications

Preferred skills and experience:

  • At least 4 years of B2C digital marketing experience

  • Extensive knowledge of marketing strategies and channels

  • People management and leadership experience are a must. Managing and supporting remote employees is a plus.

  • Public Relations experience a plus

  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity

  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools

  • Experience driving complex projects

  • Strong analytical and strategic skills

  • Proven project management success

  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
