Job Description
About the Role:
The part-time Crowdfunding Specialist’s main task is providing personalized feedback to crowdfunding projects that submit for review on the site, as well as representing the Seed&Spark crowdfunding team by leading crowdfunding workshops and, on occasion, speaking as a crowdfunding authority and Seed&Spark representative on panels put on by film festivals and partner organizations.
About YOU:
You’re a filmmaker with crowdfunding experience on the Seed&Spark platform. You have strong writing and educational skills and the ability to cater the same advice to people who need to hear it differently. You have an open mind to look beyond crowdfunding best practices when necessary to set creators up for success. You are dedicated to helping underrepresented voices forego gatekeepers to get their stories told.
We are all working remotely for the foreseeable future, so it’s important that you are proactive in your internal and external communication. You’re a team player, and we’re looking forward to building a team environment in which we care for each other’s psychological safety, have our voices heard and shift each others’ perspectives.
Here’s what you’ll do in your role:
Provide personalized feedback on crowdfunding projects submitted to Seed&Spark
Speak with authority at Education events and represent Seed&Spark as an employee and crowdfunding alumnus
Lead the occasional Crowdfunding To Build Independence workshop and others that are developed
Provide feedback and development of pitch materials for outreach and education
Capture and relay feedback for product and educational teams from our community members
Represent Seed&Spark's values in the world, with a deep and public commitment to diversity and inclusion
Qualifications
Preferred skills and experience:
Ran a successful crowdfunding campaign, preferably on Seed&Spark
Strong copywriting and copyediting skills
Strong public speaking skills
Teaching/workshop leading experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
Team player attitude
