🕒 Hours: 36 hours per week
📅 Shifts: 12-hour Day & Night Shifts

To provide security services at various sites across a defined geographical area as required. As a Relief Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting the customer's employees, property, and other assets in line with the relevant Assignment Instructions and site-specific customer requirements. The Relief Security Officer will deliver the highest levels of customer service, consistently demonstrating Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. The prospective Relief Security Officer must have acquired a full SIA licence before being able to start work on operational shifts.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

As a Relief Security Officer, you will:

  • Monitor site access, CCTV, fire, and intruder alarms.
  • Conduct regular internal and external patrols.
  • Manage keys, locking/unlocking duties, and visitor passes.
  • Enforce site traffic and parking regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records, logbooks, and reports.
  • Manage security equipment and handle lost property in line with site procedures.

Health and Safety

As a Relief Security Officer, you will:

  • Promote a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Follow and report on health and safety procedures, hazards, and incidents.
  • Ensure walkways and emergency exits remain clear at all times.
  • Report First Aid equipment usage and any stock shortages.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Valid SIA Licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Five-year checkable work/education history.
  • No current criminal convictions.
  • Own transport preferred due to site coverage.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates Securitas values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.
  • Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and cover shifts at short notice.

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Security Officer.
  • First Aid qualification.
