We’re Hiring: Weekend Relief Security Officer

📍 Location: Swansea
💰 Pay: £12.71
📅 Hours: contract – 24 hours per week. The shift pattern will primarily be Saturday and Sunday day shifts, however the successful candidate must be flexible to meet the needs of the business.

Purpose

To provide Relief security officer services at various sites across a defined geographical area as required. Protecting the customer’s employees, property and other assets in line with the relevant Assignment Instructions and site‑specific customer requirements as a Relief security officer. Delivering the highest levels of customer service which consistently demonstrate Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness while fulfilling the duties expected of a  Relief security officer.

The position is for a casual worker and must be flexible and available at short notice

• Must hold a valid SIA Licence. • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • A full UK driving licence and own transport is highly desirable
  • The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history.

Responsibilities

• Prevent unauthorised access to the site and maintain a secure environment.
• Monitor alarms, CCTV systems and respond to incidents in accordance with Assignment Instructions.
• Conduct internal patrols and complete routine checks of security equipment.
• Manage keys, including issuing, handling and completing locking/unlocking duties.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, reports and records as required.
• Issue visitor and contractor passes and ensure compliance with site procedures.
• Handle lost property in line with company policy.
• Provide guidance and information to staff, visitors and contractors.
• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.
• Report hazards, unsafe conditions, accidents and incidents promptly.
• Ensure walkways and emergency escape routes remain clear.
• Respond appropriately to fire alarm activations.

Responsibilities:

Protection of Property and Premises

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to the site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV systems as required.
• Carry out internal and external security patrols in line with the Assignment Instructions.
• Manage traffic movement and enforce parking restrictions as necessary.
• Conduct routine inspections of security equipment and report any defects.
• Manage keys and carry out locking and unlocking duties in accordance with Assignment Instructions.
• Ensure any customer‑supplied or Securitas‑supplied equipment is used correctly and maintained in line with procedures.
• Complete and maintain all logbooks and records as specified in the Assignment Instructions.
• Assist with visitor and contractor access, ensuring compliance with site procedures.
• Handle lost property in line with the Assignment Instructions.

Health and Safety

• Provide support, guidance and information to staff, visitors and contractors while promoting a safe working environment.
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Report and record hazards, unsafe working conditions, faults and incidents in accordance with company procedures.

Additional Duties- Incident and Emergency Response

• Report and record all accidents in line with Assignment Instructions.
• Ensure all walkways and emergency escape routes remain clear at all times.
• Carry out regular checks of First Aid equipment and report any shortfalls or issues.
• Notify the Securitas Operations Centre (SOC) of any emergency situations and follow all instructions given.
• Assist with fire alarm activations and support the cause investigation process
