Overview:

If you’re a senior sales professional who excels at breaking into new markets, securing major tenders, and driving large-scale revenue growth, this role offers the autonomy, scale, and strategic impact you’re looking for.

This is a rare opportunity with no Year 1 forecast target—giving you as our new National Strategic Development Manager the freedom to shape your own success parameters while absorbing industry-leading knowledge and establishing our position as a modern, multi-service protective services provider.

The Strategic Development Manager will lead and deliver all national sales and competitive tendering activity across our protective service lines. You’ll be the driving force behind identifying big opportunities, shaping winning strategies, and securing high-value national and strategic contracts end-to-end, be the beacon of recurring revenue streams, win new business and drive continued growth of Securitas UK. Security is needed everywhere, so scope to sell is vast – This role lends hand to a excellent relationship builder, a hands-on sales professional driven by targets and own success (with the right tools in place to help you flourish).

You will operate with total market visibility and be empowered to take bold, intelligent action to expand our footprint on a national scale.

Job Description

What you'll be doing:

Opportunity & Tender Strategy

  • Lead full-cycle national tender activity—identification, strategy, shaping, and submission.
  • Develop compelling win strategies in collaboration with Sales, Operations, Commercial and SMEs.
  • Analyse customer intelligence to position us ahead of market needs.
  • Pinpoint commercial growth opportunities within frameworks, procurement cycles, and strategic accounts.

Deliver Winning Submissions

  • Own tender timelines, stakeholder responsibilities, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Produce persuasive narrative content that differentiates our offering.
  • Coordinate input across operational, technical, risk, fire, and security teams.
  • Ensure submissions are accurate, compliant, aligned, and visually consistent.

Revenue Growth & Commercial Strength

  • Drive new revenue through targeted, high-value national tender opportunities.
  • Partner with Commercial teams on pricing models, commercial viability, and risk controls.
  • Influence solution design to ensure practical, scalable, and commercially robust offerings.
  • Work closely with Business Leadership to prioritise national opportunities.

Pipeline & Market Insight

  • Maintain visibility of upcoming national tenders across protective services.
  • Provide insight on competitor behaviours, market trends, and procurement shifts.
  • Support national forecasting and tender pipeline development.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Facilitate workshops, storyboarding sessions, reviews, and internal sign-off.
  • Ensure submissions meet governance, commercial approval, and contract risk standards.
  • Build strong internal relationships at all levels—from operational specialists to C-suite leaders.

Qualifications

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience managing high-value tenders, bids or proposals (national scale ideal).

  • Strong understanding of protective services or adjacent safety-led markets.

  • Exceptional written communication—able to create persuasive, polished content.

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple concurrent submissions.

  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to interpret complex contract requirements.

  • Advanced MS Word, PowerPoint and proposal-building capability.

Desirable

  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration.

  • Understanding of commercial pricing models and contract structures.

  • Knowledge of both public and private sector procurement environments.

  • Background in sales-focused roles within protective services or complex B2B industries.
