Job Description

The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing learning solutions including learning games, scenario-based eLearning, rapid eLearning, instructor-led training and other instructional materials that may be used to address business problems. They will ensure that high-quality, innovative, and effective learning solutions are delivered in a coordinated fashion with other communications and performance support interventions and ensures that solutions are easy to build and maintain. The Instructional Designer will apply adult learning theories and principles with design learning solutions including learning games, scenario-based eLearning, rapid eLearning, instructor-led training and other instructional materials that may be used to address business problems. The Instructional Designer will support Retail Services, and is responsible for ensuring the design and development of innovative training materials that directly impact business performance.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducts needs analyses with stakeholders across various areas of the business to identify trends and training needs, and designs detailed learning solutions that ensure associates are able to execute business transformation initiatives flawlessly.
• Leverages data and business acumen to discern training gaps and design learning solutions that enable associate execution of core business strategies.
• Determines appropriate deployment method for newly designed learning solutions. Methods may inlclude scenario-based
• eLearning, rapid eLearning and instructor led-training using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Studio, Adobe Captivate, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Word.
• Creates design documents that specify learning objectives, measures of student learning, learning materials design specifications,and learning impact (e.g., business results)
• Creates storyboards, scripts, course content (including simulations and blended solutions) and student directions for eLearning solutions.
• Designs courseware using interactive, online learning models, implementing adult learning principles to deliver training in an effective manner.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of courseware and programming and ensures tracking through the learning management system and compliance with AICC/SCORM standards
• Partners with performance support designers to embed content into workplace applications and support.
• Coordinates with communication specialists, media specialists, and translators to develop components of the learning solution as appropriate.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors Degree
• 1-2 years of related experience
• Valid Driver License for the State of employment
• 18 years of age or older

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Bachelors degree in educational technology, instructional design, performance improvement or related field required.
• 1+ years experience in related field.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Masters degree preferred
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
