The Team
Our Planning and Economics skills group, within the national CFI practice, operates at the heart of this purpose, advising our public purpose clients on the projects that shape Australia’s future. We deliver end-to-end expertise to support Australia’s growth today, and tomorrow. Our diversity of industry experience, insight and deep capability drives confidence in supporting clients to make better investment decisions through analysing the economic, financial and commercial of the project to inform the infrastructure outcomes.
In our Planning and Economics capability, we support our clients at the front end of project decision making – from upfront planning through to final investment decision and procurement. This is an opportunity to join our growing team in Queensland, supporting our client base across the transport, ports, energy, housing, sports and water sectors.
We provide strategic, economic, commercial and policy advice through a combination of technical and non-technical tools, including business cases and feasibility analyses, strategy assessments, cost benefit analyses, economic modelling, and transport modelling.
Job Description
In this role, you will create value by:
- Working as part of a national team advising public sector clients on high profile infrastructure projects.
- Evaluating project feasibility through economic and financial analysis, cost benefit analysis, options analysis and strategic assessment as part of a business case process.
- Collaborating on and providing support across various project workstreams.
- Assisting with the preparation of presentations and reports.
- Actively participating in project meetings, providing input and contributing to project outcomes.

Technically, you will bring to the position:
- Experience in undertaking economic analysis for infrastructure or similar projects such as cost benefit analysis and economic impact assessment.
- Strong quantitative skills to undertake economic and financial modelling
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong research skills to support the development of strategic assessments and business cases.
- Strong writing skills with ability to convey and create a compelling story telling narrative
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as economics, finance, business, commerce, engineering, law, public policy or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Experience, or interest, in the infrastructure industry and how infrastructure shapes our cities and communities
- Experience, or interest, in business case development and understanding of the Business Case Development Framework (BCDF) and Project Assessment Framework (PAF).
