Store Managers at Dollar Tree are responsible for the following:

  • Managing the profitable operation of a retail store with emphasis on recruiting, hiring, training and developing store associates in both operations and merchandising
  • Performing all opening and closing procedures
  • Implementing all operational and merchandising direction that is communicated from the Store Support Center
  • Maintaining a high standard of merchandising, placement, store signage, and proper display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers
  • Assisting in the realization of your store's maximum profit contribution
  • Protecting all company assets
  • Maintaining a high level of good customer service
  • Creative problem solving in the areas of:
    • Associate Development
    • Maximizing Sales Potential
    • Controlling Expense and Shrink
    • Merchandise Display
    • Store Signage Placement



What we need from you:

  • Must possess minimum 3 years prior retail management experience
  • Background in dealing with hardlines or variety merchandise, BIG BOX experience a plus
  • Strong productivity management ability in freight processing
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills
  • Ability to work in a high-energy team environment

As a Bench Store Manager, you will oversee the operation of our retail store in the absence of the Store Manager. Your leadership will ensure that the store runs efficiently, maximizing sales while providing exceptional customer service and developing a strong team of associates.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: Manage the profitable operation of the store, focusing on recruiting, hiring, training, and developing associates in both operations and merchandising.
  • Procedural Oversight: Perform all opening and closing procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Merchandising and Signage: Implement operational and merchandising directives communicated from the Store Support Center, maintaining high standards of merchandising, store signage, and display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers.
  • Profit Maximization: Assist in realizing the store’s maximum profit contribution by analyzing sales performance and inventory levels.
  • Customer Service: Maintain a high level of customer service, fostering a positive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Address challenges in areas such as associate development, maximizing sales potential, controlling expenses and shrink, and effective merchandise display.
  • Asset Protection: Protect company assets by ensuring compliance with loss prevention protocols and conducting regular audits.

What We Need From You

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of prior retail management experience; experience with hardlines or variety merchandise and BIG BOX experience is a plus.
