Job Description

Currently, we are looking for a Mechanical Designer to be part of our global team working together towards our mission – to bring meaningful moments to people in connected public spaces. As our Mechanical Designer, you will be part of the Development Team and you will create, document & validate mechanical concepts and designs for lighting solutions.

What you will do :

  • Create the mechanical concepts and designs for semi-complex parts / set of components of lighting solutions
  • Interact with development team and/or suppliers to ensure feasibility. Propose technical solutions.
  • Documentation, validation and release of the mechanical design of innovative components and sub-assembly
  • Mechanical patent survey in collaboration with IP department
  • Propose innovative / technical / aesthetic new concepts
  • Support colleagues on plans / designs

Skills Requested

  • Bachelor or Master degree (electro mechanics, mechanical)
  • At least 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive knowledge of SolidWorks CAD software for 3D model design and casting layout.
  • Use of Skeleton features to construct complex casting parts 
  • Experience in the use of PLM (Product Lifetime Management system) software
  • Use of MS 365 tools and MS Team application
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing process of gravity and high pressure injection moulding parts.
  • Knowledge of the injection moulding process for plastic parts
  • Knowledge of the intrinsic dimensional tolerances of castings.
  • Technical English level B2
  • Willingness to travel for very short missions (one to three days) to our suppliers and factories located in Europe once a quarter.
