Job Description

We’re searching for an amazing part-time Office Coordinator who can help our super busy, and quickly growing, team on weekday mornings, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Full Disclosure: this is not an easy job. On any given day you’ll be asked to be sure the phones are answered and the kitchen is fully stocked and tidy, coordinate travel plans, plan an office happy hour, coordinate the grocery delivery, order lunch for the office, research and plan team-building activities, and maintain a smiling face and helpful demeanor at our reception desk. We’re a startup and we run like one—fast and lean. You need to be energetic, eager to contribute, and ready to hit the ground running. There is a ton of opportunity for you to take the reigns and turn this into your dream job in Operations, but to do that, you’ll need to excel at the following from day one:

  • Food Management: Manage our daily catered lunch. Ensure our pantry is stocked and coordinate smoothies, chai tea cart tastings, etc.

  • Office Maintenance: Coordinate repairs and improvements, and own the responsibility of keeping our office pleasant and clean.

  • Admin: Welcome visitors, handle the mail, order office supplies, etc., answer the phone, buzz people into the building.

  • Budgeting: Work within the established budget for all of the above and come up with creative ways to stretch it, or prioritize things appropriately.

  • Culture: Plan activities including happy hours, birthday and anniversary celebrations, outings, and holiday parties.

  • Help coordinate travel for colleagues across multiple departments.


Qualifications

Relevant work experience. If you don't have admin/office manager work experience, please tell us in your cover letter how your roles have prepared you for this Office Coordinator position.

Other Requirements:

  • You’re friendly, with above average communication skills (both written and oral).

  • You are calm under pressure and can handle stressful situations with a pleasant demeanor.

  • You’re fluent in Google Docs, Dropbox, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and tech doesn’t scare you.

  • You’re incredibly organized.

  • You’re passionate about education. Bonus points if you’ve taught or tutored.
